Yom Deng Bul is committed Child’s Rights Activist, Conflict Analyst, and a researcher on South Sudan War Atrocities and Gross Violations of Human Rights. She is 30 years old South Sudanese lady from Jonglei State who founded the foundation at age of 16 years in remembering and heir to her late mother. She is a Founder & Executive Director of Achut Foundation (A.F), the South Sudanese Girl-Child rights None Profit-making Organization over eleven years of operations, advocating girl child’s right, protection, and girl-child education in the Republic of South Sudan and among South Sudanese refugee in East Africa. She has worked mainly in remote area of her hometown wanglei Twic East County in Jonglei state with Norwegian people’s Aid, served women and youth in Programme that uses an artistic approach to address transformational phase where women and youths acquire skill in farming to address issues of poverty, hunger, health, gender, education.
In 2006-2009, Yom was appointed as a Director of administration and finance in South Sudan Demining commission in Juba South Sudan, a commission that dealing with extraction of the landmine remains during the 21 years of civil war.
In 2009-2012 Yom, served in the Ministry of Justice, (Legal Affairs and constitutional development) as a Deputy Director of administration and finance, where she was executing administrative issues. She is an educationist, a Masters Student of the University of Nairobi (U.O.N) , pursing Masters of Arts in Diplomacy, Majoring in Diplomacy and International Laws at the Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies (IDIS),College of Humanities and Social Science (CHSS). She holds a Postgraduate Diploma, Majoring in Armed Conflict, Human Rights Law and Peace Studies from the Department of History, and Archaeology, the Faculty of Arts, The University of Nairobi. She had obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Studies and Majoring in International Relations, Diplomacy and International Law in IDIS College of Humanities and Social sciences and all are from the the University of Nairobi.
Her belief is that, peace begins with consideration of justice and fairness, and that’s mean, the only way to change and make the universe a better place for all and to stay in we must start validating humanity and justice and most importantly to invest in our children especially the girl child empowerment to realized their potential
SAMUEL KITI LEWA is sixty years old PHD holder Kenya nationalist with more than thirty year work experienced and he was appointed in the year 2016 as Chairperson Board of Directors of Achut Foundation. He made tremendous and a steering role of coordinating Achut foundation’s activities in Kenya and representing the foundation in many international NGO and local forums.
Before joining Achut Foundation, Samuel has been in the forefront serving the people of Kenya and East Africa as a whole e.g. he had worked with National Steering Committee on Peace Policy in partnership with the UNDP. Samuel served as the Kisauni District Peace Committee Vice Chairman and on June –Sept 2012 he worked with PEACENET- Kenya – Served as the Peace Building Resource Person and Trainer of Trainers. On 2011 – 2013, he worked with MA in International Conflict Management (MA ICM) Stream; served as a student representative and field research coordinator. 2012 Nov-Feb 2013, Samuel worked with Kenya electoral body known as Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) served as a Peace and Voter Educator.
He worked with CPM International- Philanthropic Non-Profit Making Organization Championing peace building initiatives and the Gospel in Mombasa County for seven years, Served as its founder and Chairman. On 1983 – 2004 he worked with Kenya Ports Authority - Senior Accountant (21 YEARS). Samuel is trustworthy person who obtain many award of merit including Certificate of Excellence by Christian Communications Network (CCN) Europe Ltd, Certificate of Fellow Membership (FMSPI) By Management Studies Promotion Institute.
He is an academician and intellectual who attained his PhD at the University of Nairobi in 2017 and holds Masters of Arts in International Conflict Management same university in 2013. Samuel is an alumna of Mohanlal Subhadra University -Bachelor of Commerce Degree in 1993. Samuel holds a -Post Graduate Diploma in computer science from Indian Institute of Computer Training and another Post Graduate Diploma in Business and Industrial Management (PGDBIM) from Management Studies Promotion Institute.
Nyaura joined Achut Foundation as an Accountant in the year 2014. She prepares all the Accounting work for Achut Foundation plays a leading role in the preparation of audited financial statements, tax returns and project financial reports.
She was born at Kiir in Leer County, Unity State, in South Sudan and holds Bachelor degree, in Human Resource Management from the African Nazarene University in Nairobi Kenya. Nyaura was appointed as accountant as a proactivity youth, worked with youth group in Kakuma Refugee Camp, by designing, planning, implementing drama and music activities.
She had worked with South Sudan Committee for National Healing Peace and Reconciliation (CNHPR) as a Secretary General in Juba, South Sudan. Her working experience with the refugee youths in Kakuma gave her a good starts with her deep desire to work as a peace ambassador in South Sudan and beyond to the region. She is vigor to contribute to the peace building of the Nation while paying much attention in making different in contributing to the Girl-Child education in South Sudan.
